The MF penalty seems to turn a lot of people off, but it really is so great. It will be frustrating at times but it’s so much fun and you really feel accomplished when you beat Baal on Insanity difficulty.Īll in all I really like the mod and I think it has made me infinitely better at D2 than anything else I’ve done and even years of playing vanilla. If you want to play BT Diablo, I recommend approaching getting your first character through hell like you would approach a dark souls game. It also makes you choose between MF and power for a long time whereas in the base game you just get it all and you melt through the game like it’s nothing. My paladin has over 500 MF even through the penalty. The MF penalty also serves the late game because with extra socket potential and the infinite +MF recipe, you overcome it easily.
Once you do have a character through and start farming, you just start twinking all your others so you really only have to experience the brutality of it once if you don’t want to. It makes getting through the game so much harder and take longer, which I see as a good thing for single player.
